A day on the pediatric oncology ward can sometimes be quite long and monotonous at that. The time doesn't want to pass, or there are unpleasant examinations to be done.

A world collapses for them when families learn of the child's diagnosis. The psychosocial stress on the entire family is severe and far-reaching.

Sports therapy

Sport accelerates the healing process and activates the body's self-healing powers. What's more, exercise is fun. Twice a week, sports therapist Kristin Kaltenhäuser challenges the children and young people on the ward. In addition, children's sports take place once a week in the waiting area of the pediatric oncology outpatient clinic.

Music Therapist

Every Tuesday, soothing music resounds in the pediatric oncology unit.

It is scientifically proven that cheerfulness strengthens the immune system, relieves pain and strengthens the heart and circulation.

Parents' Café

Every Monday at 2:00 p.m., a Parents' Café is held for concerned parents at the University Hospital.

Courage Beads

Since 2013, the association has been offering the courage pearls project at the pediatric oncology department. All patients, big and small, receive a pearl for their bravery for every examination, injection or chemotherapy.
